Dr. Deborah Birx, the coordinator of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, indicated on Wednesday that will novel coronavirus infection rate predictions suggesting the deadly in addition to highly contagious disease will infect about half the U.S. population are overblown in addition to needlessly frightening the American people.

The only way the coronavirus would certainly infect about half of the population can be if people do nothing, in addition to “every American can be doing something,” she said.

Her comments came during the daily coronavirus press briefing at the White House.

She said:

[T]hose projections … that will implied that will 60 percent or 50 percent of the population would certainly get infected, I want to be very clear. The only way that will happens can be This specific virus remains continuously moving through populations in This specific cycle, in addition to the fall cycle, in addition to another cycle.

So, that will’s the three cycles with nothing being done. … You can get to those numbers if you have zero controls in addition to you do nothing. in addition to we know that will every American can be doing something.

“I think the [infection rate] numbers that will have been put out there are actually very frightening to people,” Dr. Birx declared.
