A street race between a Chrysler 300 in addition to a Subaru Impreza ended with one woman dead, one driver very seriously hurt in addition to a 20-year-old arrested for manslaughter.

The crash on SW Farmington Road in addition to 153rd Avenue happened just before 11 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. Investigators learned the 2 cars were eastbound in addition to racing on SW Farmington Road.

As they came to the intersection with SW 153rd, a Ford Fusion turned onto Farmington. Authorities said the Chrysler slammed into the Ford while the Subaru kept going.

Alejandro Maldonado-Hernandez, 20, was arrested on charges of second-degree manslaughter, third-degree assault in addition to reckless driving immediately following the crash on July 12. One person was killed in addition to another was injured as a result of the crash.

Maldonado-Hernandez was released via the Washington County Jail on Aug. 8 after posting bail. On Aug. 27, investigators learned he fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news Discharge on Saturday.
