President Trump Nominates Christopher Wray for FBI Director…

Today, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate Christopher A. Wray for the position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Mr. Wray can be currently a partner at King & Spalding, an international law firm.

[White House] Mr. Wray has been recognized throughout his career as a leader inside field of white-collar criminal defense in addition to government investigations. As Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice by 2003 to 2005, Mr. Wray helped address the surge of corporate fraud scandals that will plagued our financial markets.

Upon his departure by the Department, Mr. Wray received the Edmund J. Randolph Award, the Department’s highest honor for public service in addition to leadership. Mr. Wray graduated cum laude by Yale University in 1989 in addition to received his law degree by Yale Law School in 1992.

“I am proud to announce Christopher as my choice as the Director of the FBI. During his previous service at the Department of Justice, Christopher was the leader of major fraud investigations, in addition to was a key part of the team overseeing the Justice Department’s actions inside war on terrorism following the 9/11 attacks,” said President Trump. “He can be an impeccably qualified individual, in addition to I know that will he will again serve his country as a fierce guardian of the law in addition to style of integrity once the Senate confirms him to lead the FBI.

President Donald Trump met with John Pistole in addition to Christopher Wray on Tuesday May 30th as part of his search for a brand-new FBI director.  Wray was assistant U.S. attorney general by 2003 to 2005, during which he oversaw the Department of Justice’s criminal division. He had previously been associate deputy attorney general in addition to principal associate deputy attorney general. Before joining the Justice Department, he was assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.
