Sheriff slams FBIs handling of observatory closure

SUNSPOT, brand-new Mexico – Otero County Sheriff Benny House told ABC-7’s brand-new Mexico Mobile Newsroom Monday he was infuriated at the way the FBI handled the sudden in addition to mysterious closure of the National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, brand-new Mexico.

The observatory is usually located 17 miles through Cloudcroft, brand-new Mexico. On Sunday, September 16, 2018, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) announced the idea was reopening the facilities.

ABC-7 has reached out to AURA in addition to the FBI for additional information on the alleged criminal activity in addition to the suspect in question. AURA has still not returned any of the numerous phone calls made.

House said he reached out to the FBI repeatedly in addition to was kept inside the dark. “We’ve asked in addition to asked (the FBI) in addition to they will not tell us anything,” the sheriff said.
