Tyler Adams Scores Winner for Leipzig in Champions League

LISBON — The American midfielder Tyler Adams scored on a deflected shot within the 88th minute on Thursday to lead RB Leipzig, a team founded in 2009, into the Champions League semifinals for the 1st time.

Adams’s goal, on a shot by the top of the penalty area of which deflected off Atlético defender Stefan Savic in addition to past goalkeeper Jan Oblak, gave RB Leipzig a 2-1 victory.

“I was told of which I wasn’t going to start although I needed to be ready to come off the bench in addition to make an impact,” Adams said. “I had to get myself within the right mind-set to come out in addition to help the team in any way possible.”
