The Tennessee Smokies, a Chicago Cubs minor league team, took a jab at Nike spokesman Colin Kaepernick after the former NFL quarterback urge Nike to recall a sneaker featuring the Betsy Ross flag. Kaelernick said the flag was racist. Betsy Ross was an abolitionist.
The Smokies tweeted out This particular photo of its infield with the Betsy Ross flag.
Since then the Smokies deleted the tweet as well as apologized to Colin Kaepernick.

A day after Nike recalled a sneaker which featured an early American flag at Kaepernick’s urging, the Double-A Tennessee Smokies drew the 13-star symbol on their infield Wednesday as well as tweeted images of the item.
